October and especially Halloween in NYC are like no other place in the world; the atmosphere, decorations, and costumes are mind-blowing. If you are in NYC during the month of October, visiting some of NYC best-haunted houses is an absolute must. After years of exploring Halloween decorations in NYC, I’ve finally created this list of NYC Best Haunted Houses.
At the end of this blog post, you can find a google map with all the locations. So without further ado, here are NYC’s spookiest houses updated for 2020:
Peace Love Chelsea
This spooky-fun house is located at 314 W 22nd Street, Chelsea, and each year it has a new design. The people who decorate this house are Hatch Creative Studio and it is conveniently located (2 min walk) next to C and E station on 23rd Street. A live video of this haunted house from 2019 is available here. The house is decorated for Halloween 2020 but without the floating witches’ hats.
Spider Web House
This house is designed by elegantmadesimple and is located at 44 W 94th Street, about 5 minutes walk from the B and C subway stations on 96th Street. A live video of this web haunted house from 2019 is available here. The house is decorated again in 2020 and looks pretty much the same.
Nightmare on Upper East
This is a complete blook filled with different Halloween exhibits that will make your head spin. If you are lucky you might even see that creepy funeral car with zombies in it. This house is just a few minutes walk from Central Park and is located on 10 E 67th Street, about 8 minutes’ walk from the N, R, and W subway stations on 59th Street. A live video of this web haunted house is available here.
This house is decorated again in 2020 but a lot of the big decorations from previous years are still missing. You can find live videos of this house from 2019 and 2020 on my Facebook page and HD video on my Instagram account.
Dragon House
When Halloween explodes all over your house this is how it looks like. The owner of this house has so many decorations that it takes him over two weeks to place everything out. This house is located at 41 East 72nd Street close to Madison Avenue, about 10 minutes walk from the Q subway stations on 72nd Street. Please notice that this house was not decorated for Halloween in 2020 but you can still catch my live video from 2019.

First of all, congratulations on your beautiful photos and tips, I am a mess on what dates to travel to NY in October. Choose first fortnight or second, I do not want to miss Central Park with its autumnal leaves and to see the houses decorated for Halloween but I am a little scared if the rain can spoil the plans in the second fortnight. You can help me decide. A big hug, Arantza
Thank you Arantza! Well, it rained today and it was absolutely beautiful outside. You can check my Instagram posts and stories from today. Don’t let the rain deter you from booking your trip.
